Since 1936 COMES offers to its customers a full selection of machinery, accessories, equipments, know-how, consumable and technical assistance.

COMES-Italy society is one the world biggest expert suppliers of machinery for the ophthalmic lenses and resistance material surface production (glass mineral, quarzo, crystal, special glasses, plastic and polycarbonate, ceramic material).

Our work is mainly addressed to ophthalmic lenses and solar products producers worldwide.

The values guiding our actions are based in 3 main concepts, always present in our machinery and our business identity: reliability, strength and safety. New technologies must be able to quickly support the progress of our work, whether it refers to the timing or the quality of the final product. Customer´s need is our priority and the personalization or creation of special machinery upon request is our job. We look for the continuous improvement and optimization of machinery and the productive process. We ensure our customers the supply of all spare parts for at least 10 years after the product sale.

Our client service assistance policy takes into consideration the availability of consumables and spare parts so our technicians could respond as soon as possible to our customers’ requests.

Our productions are related to:

  • Ophthalmic Optic Surface / RX Prescription: FreeForm & Standard RX.
  • Ophthalmic Optic Surface / Mass Production: mineral and crystal sunglasses surface; production of injection mould for CR/39; production of steel injection mould for plastic polymer.
  • High-precision optical surface / Production, Finishing and polishing of special crystal and plastic lens / Refraction mirrow, hard glass for watches, quarzo for electronic applications.
  • Shaping/Edging of ophthalmic lens and shaping of hard material in general.
  • Industrial shaping/edging of lens for mass production (Solar Crystal, Protective lens, Optical masks).
  • Coating PVD: equipments for the sublimation and deposition of metal nano-film for anti-reflective, coloring, mirrors, hydrophobic and Top & Super Top-Coat treatment.
  • Contactology: equipments for the production of rigid, semi-rigid and gas permeable contact lenses and intraocular lenses.

In order to achieve our goals we aim to:

  • Personalize the production; satisfy the customer’s needs; offer an immediate and effective technical assistance in addition of a precised mechanical production.
  • Maintain a program that does not stop the use of mechanical constructions because of the update of the production cycle, the automation software (user interface) or the production management software (Optical Laboratory management software, LMS and LDS), must be considered integral part of a work project.
